SPEAKER

Jon Green

SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 1:3-14

OUTLINE

God chose me first.

God saved me.

God adopted me as his own.

God promised me an inheritance.

God guaranteed it with His Spirit.

I belong to Jesus.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. Do you believe you are here this morning not by accident? Why or why not?
  2. Pastor Jon said Paul, in his letter to the Ephesian church, said God chose you. What are your reactions to that statement? Has it changed in the last five years? If so, why?
  3. In 1:13-14 Paul says when we believed we were sealed with the Holy Spirit guaranteeing our inheritance to be with God. We then belong to God and God does not break His promises. Discuss how this promise can and should affect your daily lives.
  4. There are times when parts of scripture are not clear to us. When that happens, how does that affect your relationship with God and the fact that He chose you?

NEXT STEPS

  • I choose to believe that God chose me.
  • I will live my life in the freedom of knowing I belong to God.
