Steve Hill

Senior Pastor

Steve grew up on a wheat farm in western Kansas where he learned how to drive tractors and combines. After graduating from Kansas State University in Mechanical Engineering, he attended Dallas Seminary and finished a Master’s degree. He also has a Doctor of Ministry degree and an MBA. Steve & his wife Mary met in Dallas and moved to Washington state for 9 years where Steve was an associate pastor. Steve has been the Sr. Pastor at GCF since 2000.  

Wife Mary; two grown sons Jake (Lives in Nashville) and Andy (Lives in Eugene and married)

Volunteer Chaplain for Eugene Police Department; Hunting, Antique radios, Fantasy Football, Baseball, and all other sports. Other interests include reading history & leadership, reading the Jack Reacher series, and cheering for the Ducks & Beavers.

Preaching, teaching, vision casting, and general oversight.

Steve is passionate about following Jesus and developing people. He believes followers of Jesus should take themselves less seriously, while taking Jesus much more seriously.

Tracy Sims

Operations Pastor

Tracy was born in Kansas but raised in the Seattle area (Go Huskies!). He moved to Eugene to attend Northwest Christian University after high school, where he graduated with a degree in math and eventually earned an MBA. Tracy was also the registrar at NCU for ten years. He and his then future wife, Stacey, began attending Grace ever since their college freshman year. Tracy joined the church staff in 2005.

Jon Green

Worship and Creative Arts Pastor

Jon is originally from Federal Way, Washington. He has lived in Springfield and Eugene since the age of 10. He attended the University of Oregon, where he studied music performance and literature. He has been on staff at Grace since 2002. He and his wife, Amy, have been married since 2002 and have three kids

I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, reading, and playing board games with friends

Leading God’s people in worshipping Jesus, teaching what it means to worship God, facilitating other technical and creative aspects of the services and other events.

I am passionate about seeing people bring their whole lives to God, in submission to Jesus, to have a dynamic impact on the community around them.

Josh Doebler

Kids’ Pastor

Josh is a preacher’s kid from Johnson City, Tennessee. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where he graduated with a degree in Intercultural Studies. He and his wife, Jessica, have been married since 2005 and have three kids. Josh has been in full-time Kid’s Ministry for more than 12 years, most recently here at GCF (since fall of 2017).

I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, playing guitar, listening to Tim Hawkins & Jim Gaffigan, and quoting movies.

With oversight of GCFKIDS (birth-5th grade), it is my responsibility to:
Plan for weekly Sunday mornings and special events.
Build relationships with children and families.
Create an environment where kids are excited & passionate about learning more about Jesus and how to live for Him.
Build and equip a team of all-star volunteers to help bring about life change in the hearts and lives of kids.
Build relationships and connections with other local Kids Ministry leaders via kidminconnect.org

I believe that kids are the greatest mission field in the world, and I am passionate about helping as many as possible come to know, love, and serve Jesus in a real way. I also have a passion for connecting other Kid’s Ministry leaders to each other and seeing them grow in their influence and effectiveness.

Josh Mitchell

Discipleship Pastor

Josh was born in southern California, raised in Colorado, and moved to the Pacific Northwest in middle school. He is a graduate of Multnomah University and Liberty University and is currently working on a doctorate at Corban University. Josh moved to Eugene and joined the church staff in 2015 and has worked in ministry for over a decade. Josh is married to Marcy and they have one child (Ivan).

Overseeing young adults, small groups, men’s, women’s, and discipleship ministries.

John Krill

Youth Pastor

John grew up playing soccer and track most his life. He spent a majority of his life picking blue berries every summer on his grandparents’ farm. John graduated Oregon State University with an Exercise Sports Science degree and went to teach PE at a Middle School. During the same time John became a high school director at a local Church and fell in love with working with students. John then went on to Western Seminary where he received his master’s degree in ministry and now is overjoyed that he has his dream job as a Youth Pastor!

3 Sisters (2 of them are my triplet sisters). I have a mom and dad who work hard keeping me in line. I also am seeing Taylor Swift (long term relationship at the moment).

Reading, lifting, all sports, hiking, catching fish (not fishing), playing piano, photography, stalking a celebrity, and YOUTH MINISTRY.

Pastor of Youth, preaching, teaching, student outreach, volunteer management.

I love God and I love people. I have no greater joy than to see students follow Jesus and exploring that with them.

Kaleea Honey

Communications Manager

Kaleea grew up in Sacramento California and moved to Eugene to attend University of Oregon, she later transferred to Bushnell University where she received her B.A in Theology and Biblical Studies, as well as a minor in Marketing. During college she worked in sales, and as a part time marketing assistant, she also served regularly as a youth leader and creative intern. She looks forward to using technology to advance the growth of all of ministries represented here at GCF.

Grow church platform to engage the community at large by means of communication mediums such as digital media. 

I am passionate about using technology as vehicle to communicate and spread the gospel to any demographic, even to the ends of the Earth.

Kay Mustoe

Kids’ Ministry Assistant

Kay was raised on a dairy farm in Colorado and attended Fort Lewis college. She worked construction for 35 years and had her own drywall company in Phoenix. She has been a member of GCF for 18 years and has served in Children’s Ministry at Grace for 17 years, filling a variety of volunteer and staff roles.

Kay has been married to her husband Pat for 45 years. They have 2 daughters. Jody is married to Jeff and they have 2 daughters Jessica and Hannah. Kristy is married to Thomas.

Jennifer Friesen

Executive Assistant

Jenn grew up in a military family and has lived all over the country, as well as three years in Germany. She spent the greatest amount of time in the Seattle area which she still considers “home”. She met her husband, Jason on a church retreat just before starting college at Western Washington University. They were married two years later and lived on the east coast for the next ten years; where she worked as an orthodontic assistant while Jason completed his medical training. She has been blessed with the best job in the world as a stay at home mom for the past 20 years! Her family has attended GCF since moving to Eugene in 2008.

Married to Jason; two children – Caden & Laine

Volunteering with Love for Lane County, Safe Families for Children, and at GCF. Music, exercise, hiking, reading, camping and traveling.

Assist the Operations Pastor & Executive Pastor, coordinate volunteers for various office-related duties, respond to internal and external requests of the office, manage the GCF calendar, and help coordinate events.

With a heart for service and for people, Jenn desires to be the hands and feet of Jesus to everyone she meets. She hopes to be a light that makes others feel loved, accepted, and drawn to the Lord.

Gretchen Ruddick

Youth Ministry Assistant

Gretchen was born in Roseburg, OR and moved to Eugene when she was 11 years old. Grace Community Fellowship was the first church her family visited back in 1989 and it has been home to them ever since. She graduated from Sheldon High School, spent two years playing volleyball at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and then transferred to Oregon State where she graduated with a BS in Exercise and Sport Science. Throughout her teenage and college years she was active in youth group, FCA, and Cru. After getting married in 1999, Gretchen and her husband, Josh, started volunteering in the High School ministry at Grace, and have continued to do so for 19 years. Three sons have been added to their family keeping them very busy with sports and school activities. Gretchen joined the church staff in September 2015 as the Youth Ministry Assistant.

Our Elders

The leadership team of GCF provides oversight to our ministries. They are the champion of the mission statement of the church by praying for people and providing practical assistance when needed. The team sets the vision of the future and the strategy steps to accomplish our goals.
