BIG IDEA

You can’t deal with everyone in the same way.

SERMON OUTLINE

  1. You relate to wise people by Investing in them
  2. You relate to fools by setting limits and instilling consequences.
  3. You relate to evil people by avoiding them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. How do you classify yourself (wise, foolish, or evil)? Why? How would your friends classify you?
  2. Describe a time when you were taken advantage of by a “foolish” person. Would setting limits have helped in this situation?
  3. What is one relationship in your life that you yourself need to realize that you cannot change the person? How can you best continue to love the person?
  4. What is an area in your life in which you need to hand over to Jesus and allow Him to move you from foolish to wise? Does your spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend agree?

MY NEXT STEP

  • Ask Jesus to help me become a wiser person.
  • Evaluate if I need to set limits in any of my relationships.
  • Something else?
