- When have you, like Herod, felt threatened by Jesus’ kingship?
- Is it a struggle for you to think that God did not show up to save all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under (2:16)? Why?
- Pastor Steve said that God shows up in our grief and cares about it. Have you experienced this comfort in times of grief? Explain, either way.
- In John 16:20 Jesus tells his disciples that, eventually, their current grief will turn to joy. In your experience of grief, does it indeed turn to joy eventually?
- Describe a time you were able to be present for someone in a time of extreme grief. What was helpful for your friend during that time?
