Steve Hill | Senior Pastor
Steve grew up on a wheat farm in western Kansas where he learned how to drive tractors and combines. After graduating from Kansas State University in Mechanical Engineering, he attended Dallas Seminary and finished a Master’s degree. Steve & Mary met in Dallas and moved to Washington state for 9 years where Steve was an associate pastor. Steve has been the Sr. Pastor at GCF since 2000.
Family: Wife Mary; two grown sons Jake (Lives in Denver) and Andy (Lives in Eugene and married)
Interests: Volunteer Chaplain for Eugene Police Department; Hunting, Antique radios, Fantasy Football, Baseball, and all other sports. Other interests include reading history & leadership, reading the Jack Reacher series, and cheering for the Ducks & Beavers.
Day Job: Sr. Pastor at Grace Community Fellowship
Responsibilities: Preaching, teaching, vision casting, and general oversight.
Passion: Steve is passionate about following Jesus and developing people. He believes followers of Jesus should take themselves less seriously, while taking Jesus much more seriously.
Jon Green | Worship Pastor
Jon is originally from Federal Way, Washington. He has lived in Springfield and Eugene since the age of 10. He attended the University of Oregon, where he studied music performance and literature. He has been on staff at Grace since 2002. He and his wife, Amy, have been married since 2002 and have three kids

Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, reading, and playing board games with friends
Day Job: Worship Pastor
Responsibilities: Leading God’s people in worshipping Jesus, teaching what it means to worship God, facilitating other technical and creative aspects of the services and other events.
Passion: I am passionate about seeing people bring their whole lives to God, in submission to Jesus, to have a dynamic impact on the community around them.
Tracy Sims | Associate Pastor
Tracy was born in Kansas but raised in the Seattle area (Go Huskies!). He moved to Eugene to attend Northwest Christian University after high school, where he graduated with a degree in math and eventually earned an MBA. Tracy was also the registrar at NCU for ten years. He and his then future wife, Stacey, began attending Grace ever since their college freshman year. Tracy joined the church staff in 2005.
Family: Wife Stacey; kiddos Caitlyn, Joshua, Jacob, and Ethan
Interests: Reading, exercise, attending kids’ events, and the ever-elusive date night with my wife.
Day Job: Associate Pastor
Responsibilities: Helping people move from being accepted to connected to invested in their relationship with Jesus and GCF.
Passion: “I am passionate about people meeting Jesus in a real, life-changing way. I get fired up watching lives change.”
Josh Mitchell | Youth Pastor
Josh was born in southern California, raised in Colorado, and moved to the Pacific Northwest in middle school. While at youth group in high school, Josh met his wife Marcy. He graduated from Multnomah University with a bachelor’s in biblical studies/youth ministry and is attending seminary at Liberty University. Josh moved to Eugene and joined the church staff in 2015.

Interests: Watching Ducks & Seahawks football, drinking coffee, playing with my dog, watching movies, video games, and enjoying The Great Northwest!
Day Job: Youth Pastor
Responsibilities: Overseeing all aspects of the youth ministry department (grades 6-12)

Josh Doebler | KidMin Director
Josh is a preacher’s kid from Johnson City, Tennessee. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where he graduated with a degree in Intercultural Studies. He has served in full-time Children’s Ministry over the last 10 years in Ohio, Virginia, and now here in Eugene. He and his wife, Jessica, have been married since 2005 and have three kids.
Family: Wife Jessica; Kids: Jovie, Jace, & Jenna
Interests: I enjoy fishing, playing guitar, listening to Tim Hawkins & Jim Gaffigan, quoting movies, and spending time with my family!
Day Job: KidMin Director
Responsibilities: With oversight of GCF Kids (birth-5th grade), it is my responsibility to:
- Plan for weekly Sunday mornings and special events.
- Build relationships with children and families.
- Create an environment where kids are excited & passionate about learning more about Jesus and how to live for Him.
- Build and equip a team of sold-out volunteers to help bring about life change in the hearts and lives of kids.
Passion: I believe that kids are the greatest mission field in the world, and I am passionate about helping as many as possible come to know, love, and serve Jesus in a real way.
Charlene Burch | Office Manager
Charlene grew up in the Portland area and attended Portland Community College and Multnomah Bible College. She married Bruce (whom she met in high school) who owns Burch’s Landscape Company. They moved to Eugene to have their family closer to grandparents for their children. Charlene worked as Office Manager for Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for several years. They began attending Grace in 1992. Charlene began working in the office as secretary in 1999 and is now the Office Manager.
Family: Husband Bruce (40+ years); Kids: Carol, Hilary, Martin; and Grandchildren: Rocky, Leana, Shaylin, and Kairi

Responsibilities: Serving the church as office manager and helping out here and there as needed.
Brynn Thomas | Communications Director
Brynn grew up in California and attended Northwest Christian University, which is where she he met her husband Justin. After college, Brynn attended Grace Community Fellowship for several years, and was involved in a few ministries at the church during that time. Brynn and her family moved back to Eugene in 2015, following several years living in Nashville and Portland. They have been attending Grace Community Fellowship since their return to the area.

Interests: Family (including our 2 dogs) and friends, traveling, reading, movies
Day Job: Communications Director
Responsibilities: Coordinate a variety of communication functions within the church, and our community.
Passion: I am passionate about helping our ministries put together successful events and projects, and sharing through a variety of platforms about what God is doing in and through our church.
Gretchen Ruddick | Youth Ministry Assistant
Gretchen was born in Roseburg, OR and moved to Eugene when she was 11 years old. Grace Community Fellowship was the first church her family visited back in 1989 and it has been home to them ever since. She graduated from Sheldon High School, spent two years playing volleyball at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and then transferred to OSU where she graduated with a BS in Exercise and Sport Science. Throughout her teenage and college years she was active in youth group, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Campus Crusade. After getting married in 1999, Gretchen and her husband, Josh, started volunteering in the High School ministry at Grace, and have continued to do so for 15 years. Three sons have been added to their family keeping them very busy with sports and school activities. Gretchen joined the church staff in September 2015 as the Youth Ministry Assistant.

Interests: Running, playing volleyball, watching her boys play sports, camping, traveling, and being active with her family.
Day Job: Part-time Youth Ministry Assistant
Responsibilities: Event planning, organization, and assisting with various elements of the Middle School and High School ministries.
Passion: “I am passionate about connecting with students and helping them pursue a lifelong relationship with Christ.”
Kay Mustoe | Children’s Ministry Assistant
Kay was raised on a dairy farm in Colorado and attended Fort Lewis college. She worked construction for 35 years and had her own drywall company in Phoenix. She has been a member of GCF for 18 years and has served in Children’s Ministry at Grace for 17 years, filling a variety of volunteer and staff roles.
Family: Kay has been married to her husband Pat for 45 years. They have 2 daughters. Jody is married to Jeff and they have 2 daughters Jessica and Hannah. Kristy is married to Thomas.
Day Job: Children’s Ministry Assistant
Responsibilities: Assists the Children’s Ministry Director
Passion: “To impact kids so they want a relationship with Christ, and to have that relationship be exciting.”
Steve Kuhn | Graphic Designer, Men’s Ministry
Steve was born and raised in Eugene and has no intentions of ever leaving. He graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from Oregon State, and is hoping to someday return to school to pursue a counseling degree at Western Oregon. He’s been attending Grace since he was a middle-schooler in the mid-90s.
Family: Wife Jen; daughters Madeline and Emilia; and the world’s greatest dog, Squatchy.
Interests: Hiking, Skiing, Camping, Legos, Star Wars, Star Wars Legos, Coffee, and Reading
Day Job: Freelance Graphic Designer, Author
Responsibilities: I handle the majority of design work for the church, ranging from announcement slides to the church website. I’m also a part of the GCF:MEN leadership team, where I lead multiple classes and small groups for men.
Passion: “I’m passionate about helping men get their hearts back, find their freedom in Christ, and discover what it means to walk in Biblical Masculinity.”
Lisa Terrall | Bookkeeper
Lisa has been attending Grace for 27 years and has been the bookkeeper for 18 years, with the exception of a brief one-year retirement.
Family: Husband Rodger, Kids: Kelly, Rachel and Chelsea, and 6 grandkids.
Interests: Books, walking, hiking, trips to the beach, Bible study, dogs and spending time with grandkids.
Day job: Office manager and bookkeeper at the same business for 29 years
Passion: “It has been women’s ministries for years, but God is bending my heart toward children’s ministry. I also really love mentoring young women.”
Jason grew up in Redmond, Washington before moving to the east coast (New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania) for medical school and training. He moved to Eugene in 2008 and started attending GCF shortly after. He has served as an elder since 2012.
Family: Jason married his wife Jennifer in 1994. They have two children, Caden and Laine.
Interests: photography, hiking, camping, soccer, gardening
Day Job: Allergist/Immunologist at Oregon Allergy Associates
Responsibilities: Grace Community Garden and keeping the other elders in line
Passion: “I’m passionate about being the hands and feet of Jesus in serving the poor, homeless, and marginalized members of society.”

Bob grew up in Veneta Oregon and graduated from Elmira High School. Went to the University of Oregon and graduated with both a degree in Economics and an MBA. As a young adult, I spent 7 years in full-time ministry serving at Youth for Christ. I came to Grace in 2007 and became an Elder in 2012.
Family: Married to Amy (she’s definitely the better half) and have 4 kids. (Taylor, Nate, Emma & Cooper).
Interests: I love spending time with my wife and kids. I also love to golf but don’t seem to be getting any better. Besides golf and family, I enjoy laughing with friends and having fun and meaningful conversation.
Day Job: Financial Advisor with KeyBank.
Responsibilities: Serving as Chairman of the Board as an Elder. Some mentoring of men who are struggling in their marriage because of separation or divorce.
Passion: “Reaching out to non-christians and helping them come to know Christ in a real and personal way. Also walking alongside men struggling in their marriage and giving them hope for reconciliation.”
Evan Grew up in Salem, Oregon and moved to Eugene in 2000. He has a Master’s Degree in Special Education and is a School Administrator. He and his family have been attending Grace Community Fellowship since 2006, and he has served as an elder at GCF since 2016.
Family: Evan is married to Michelle, and they have two kids: Carson and Anna
Interests: I love to spend time with my family and play with my two young kids. We love to go camping, boating, and hiking. In my free time I read, run, or exercise.
Day Job: Assistant Principal at Shasta Middle School
Responsibilities: I serve on the Men’s Ministry Team and help out with GCF kids Sunday School.
Passion: I am passionate about loving people where they are at and helping them follow Jesus. I am passionate about teaching young people about Christ’s love for them.
Raised on a farm in Silverton, Jason moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon. He majored in sociology and earned three letters on the UO wrestling team. After completing school, he worked as a carpenter for various contractors. In August 1975, he launched his own company, Jason Schar Construction, a sole proprietorship. Three years later he incorporated into what is now known as Schar Construction, Inc. (SCI). Jason lives with his wife, Ann, in Eugene. They have two adult children, both married, and five grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors, horse riding and working around his home.
Family: Jason is married to Ann, and they have 2 kids: Jincy and Andrew, 5 grandkids: Ramsey, Ellie, Hadley, Bodie, & Josie.
Interests: Spending time with family, maintaining 4 acres, shooting, horse packing, hunting & fishing,
Day Job: Part owner of Schar Construction, Inc.
Responsibilities: Finances and budget, lead a small group, help with 1 & 2 year olds Sunday morning, past Chairman.
Passion: Investing in the next generation of leaders.
Rodger has been attending GCF for 20 years and has been elder for 15 years. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon and holds an MBA.
Family: Wife Lisa; kids Kelly, Rachel (granddaughter Avalon), and Chelsea
Interests: B’ball; R’ball; gardening; Bible study; games; travel; singing; golf; trash talking (after Elijah kind of); spending time with my family and dogs
Day Job: Senior Vice President at Umpqua Bank
Responsibilities: Elder-primarily finance, but also teaching, singing, helping out where I can.
Passion: “Young Marrieds; helping people, and myself, to know Jesus in a real way; seeing people stretch themselves to reach new heights by trusting God more; encouraging others.”
Bob and his wife Sally have attended Grace since the second Sunday after they arrived in Eugene in 1989.
Family: Bob and Sally have two grown sons, Ryan and Jason, who live with their families in Eugene, and five grandchildren.
Interests: Sailing, Pacific Crest Trail hiking, wave-watching in Yachats, UO and OSU sports watching and used-book-store perusing.
Day Job: Associate editor at The Register-Guard newspaper. Author. Speaker. Writers workshop leader.
Responsibilities: Beyond serving as an elder, he has been involved in men’s ministry and children’s ministry. He and Sally launched the Marriage Team program, where they serve as coaches. He occasionally preaches.
Passion: Through written and spoken words, trying to inspire people to be more for God — and for each other.
Mel has been attending GCF since the beginning in 1980. He and his wife Kim started dating after the first high school event held at Grace in the Spring of 1981. They later married in 1986. He joined the Elder council in 2009. Mel served in the army for 6 years before moving back to Eugene.
Family: Wife Kim; daughter Michele (Graduate student at OSU – Pharmacy)
Interests: Motorcycles and old cars
Day Job: Mel is a Letter Carrier with the Postal Service. He has 22 years of combined Federal service.
Responsibilities: He is involved in many of the community outreach events including Project Hope, Under the Bridge and acts as the volunteer blood drive coordinator.
Passion: “I am passionate about learning God’s Word, developing young men, and our church.”
